During the urbanist planning of Petržalka [Slovakia's largest residential district], public houses meant to provide the socialist masses with affordable beer, wines and spirits have been named according to a peculiar system. All of them bore space-related names – Venus, Jupiter, Neptune, Uranus etc. By now, most of them would have been renamed, refurbished, or completely repurposed. Meteor [Slovak for Meteorite] is the last Mohican of socialist hospitality. An ideal place to enjoy the atmosphere of Petržalka at the dawn of the Pannel House Era. Do not expect high gastronomy or exquisite service. However, if you stop by on your way from a fishing trip at a nearby canal, they have a special spot for your fishing rods.
